du sponsors Fujairah Police’s Ajyal al Shurta programme for the fourth consecutive year
As a demonstration of its dedication to the people of the UAE and supporting various community-boosting initiatives, du has announced its sponsorship of Fujairah Police’s ‘Ajyal Al Shurta’ initiative. This is the fourth consecutive year that the company has supported the programme, which is organised by the Directorate General of Fujairah Police, and runs for 3 weeks from 18 August-5 September 2013, with the participation of 215 students from grades 7-9 from Al Fujairah Educational Zone. The programme encourages students to direct their energies into useful activities throughout the summer holidays.
du’s sponsorship is in line with the company’s dedication to improving the quality of health, fitness and well-being in the UAE community. This comes in line with Every Step Counts, the nationwide wellness initiative launched by the company in July 2013, which is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai.

I encourage parents to urge their children to join such activities, because the practical experience compliments the theoretical one gained in schools, while strengthening their characters and making them more effective in all that they do.”
‘Ajyal Al Shurta’ has been organized for since 2003 under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah. More than 2000 young Emiratis have participated in it, with the programme having had a great influence on their educational and professional choices.
The programme is designed to enhance the values of honesty and integrity, while teaching students to respect human rights and encouraging them to provide equal services to all the individuals in the community. It also promotes creativity and innovation, recognize students’ individual efforts while also encouraging team work.
