Etisalat introduces Rollover minutes on all post-paid plans

Etisalat is the first in the UAE as it launches rollover minutes, an exciting new offering that allows its postpaid customers to keep their unused monthly minutes for the following month. ‘Rollover minutes’ simply extends the validity of unused local or international minutes included in bundled plans for an additional month.

Etisalat’s new and existing customers subscribed to any MyPlan, iPhone plan or smartphone plan are automatically eligible for the new, FREE feature at no extra cost. Etisalat will carry over every unused minute for customers to use in the following month. As an example, if an Etisalat postpaid customer has purchased MyPlan ‘Ultra’ bundle that allocates 500 local call minutes and the customer only uses 400 of those minutes, then 100 minutes will be added onto the next month’s allocation for a total of 600 minutes.

Commenting on the new offering, Matthew Willsher, Chief Marketing Officer at Etisalat, said, “At Etisalat, we understand that our customers’ mobile usage is not constant and can vary from month to month. Therefore, we have adapted our postpaid bundles to suit our customers’ changing patterns. The new rollover feature is a compelling value-add that brings a lot of flexibility to the bundled plans. Customers can easily check and keep track of their used and rolled over minutes. ”

On the timing of launch of the rollover feature, Willsher highlighted, “Summer is a peak time for travelling abroad in the UAE. We have planned the launch at this time so that our postpaid customers do not lose their unused bundled minutes while they holiday abroad. Upon return, they will be able to conveniently utilize the balance of local and international minutes from the previous month. We are certain that customers will highly value this feature and will be thrilled to see their first rolled over minutes in their July bills.”

Customers who upgrade or downgrade their postpaid packages; or change between national and international bonus minutes, will also retain their balance of rolled over minutes.

Keeping track of used and rollover minutes:

At the end of every month, customers receive an SMS with the total number of minutes being rolled over to the next month. In addition, the rollover minutes that are carried over from a previous month are clearly detailed on the customer’s bill. At any time, customers can check their rolled over minutes by simply dialing *170# and follow the instructions.
