France Telecom to announce partnerships with US Web firms
CEO Stephane Richard looks for new ways of monetising data traffic.
France Telecom has been seeking partnerships with web players and content providers to find new ways of generating revenue from the rapid surge of mobile data traffic.
Richard said the company will seek to establish more partnerships with peers and also with web companies, as the future of the telecoms industry will be made more of cooperation than competition.
The CEO didn’t say which companies the telecom operator might strike deals with. However, he said he has had a very positive exchange with Google Inc. executives recently about finding new revenue streams from the rise in data traffic.
