HTC collaborates with Getty Images to launch a new campaign that captures the spirit and passion of street football

HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, has announced the upcoming launch of ‘Inside Street Football,’ a new campaign designed to capture the passion and spirit of street football. ‘Inside Street Football’ leverages the award winning new HTC One to shoot grass roots football across twelve cities in Europe and the Middle East, with all images, captured by Getty Images’ photographers, exhibited in the Gallery of Light at Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC), Mall of the Emirates, from September 16-19, 2013. Taking inspiration from HTC’s global partnership with The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, ‘Inside Street Football’ explores the different urban spaces in which people first discover their love for the game, in addition to capturing a unique perspective on renowned cities as diverse as Riyadh and Stockholm. Captured by an esteemed roster of Getty Images photographers, ‘Inside Street Football’ utilises the key features of the HTC One UltraPixel camera such as HTC Zoe™ to help capture every movement. From recording stills and HD video at the same time to utilizing the camera’s ultra-wide angle front-facing camera and low-light capabilities, the campaign brings to life the passion for street football, from playing on the beach in Saudi Arabia, to kicking around a ball in Dubai’s Safa Park. Two photographers from the MENA region are featured in the exhibition. Farah Nosh, an award-winning Iraqi-Canadian photographer, based in the UAE, has had her work featured on the cover of ‘Time’ magazine and is renowned for the quiet intimacy of her work. Dammam-based Ali Almubarak’s high-impact photography style meshes perfectly with the animated, energetic sport that is the focus of this unique exhibition. Speaking about the exhibition Neeraj Seth, Senior Brand Communication Manager, HTC MEA, said, “Football is a game that transcends all languages, all borders and all backgrounds so it was important for ‘Inside Street Football’ to go back to where it all started and capture the love people have for the game whatever the backdrop. Most people carry a smartphone around with them every day and use it to capture and share content, so it made absolute sense to put the award winning HTC One into the hands of Getty Images photographers to capture the places people genuinely enjoy kicking around a ball.” Farah Nosh said, “Using the HTC One really helped me get closer to the action and portray the real passion people have for the game. It was amazing to see Dubai in this way, and to be a part of such a diverse exhibition like ‘Inside Street Football’ which looks back to the grassroots of the game.”Ali Almubarak said, “The HTC One UltraPixel camera proved the perfect tool for capturing an exciting range of shots that really represent the energy and passion of street footballers. This was an exciting assignment to undertake, and I know I am very satisfied with demonstrating what mobile photography can achieve.”
