MEET ICT and BITEX 2017 successfully held in Bahrain

Bahrain’s position as the Middle East’s most liberal information and communications technology (ICT) market, along with excellent infrastructure, has encouraged many ICT companies to base their regional headquarters in Bahrain. For the 7th consecutive year, BITEX, a technology exhibition was held on 7 to 9 February 2017 at Gulf Convention Centre, Manama alongside with the MEET ICT Conference which brought all ICT companies under one roof to display the latest trends in their field. Organized jointly by Gulf future business (WorkSmart) and Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BITECH) this event brought together the ICT community for business building as well as researching for more powerful solutions in the sector. The expo was aimed to strengthen innovative potentials and boost the process of technical restoration of ICT industry.

This year’s event had more than 30 speakers from international and regional organizations and they presented a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the various areas of ICT.

On the morning of February 7th, the event was inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Kingdom of Bahrain, along with the organizers and sponsors. The minister who was the Chief Patron of the event delivered his inaugural speech. Ubaydli Ubaydli Chairman, BTECH welcomed the guests and audience while Andrei Pienaar Founder and CEO, CLoud 10, presented his keynote.

The 7th edition of MEETICT and BITEX gave recognition to individuals as well as companies who excelled in the field of ICT Partners. Sponsors were also awarded and appreciated.

With the theme, Digital Transformation through Smart World, the conference and workshops were focused on knowledge sharing, high level engagement, strategic debate and networking with key stakeholders and experts as they shared insights and debate on the latest trends in digital economy.

An exclusive platform happened during MEET ICT and BITEX event which acknowledged the support of Tamkeen and encourage the ICT sector to be actively involved at empowering the Bahrain ICT Companies through ICT Road Map initiatives.

CIO RoundTable during MEET ICT and BITEX event was attended by chief information officers and IT director members to discuss the latest development in Cyber Security threats and challenges being faced by their respective organizations.

ARAB UNION for ICT attended by ICT representatives of their respective associations from Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Morocco visited and held their 2nd annual meeting for Arab Union for ICT during MEET ICT and BITEX.

Exhibitors received an Appreciation Award in recognition of their efforts in inviting their targets to the exhibition and showcase their products and services to the visitors of BITEX.
