Sheikh Mohammed launches YouTube channel

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has launched his own YouTube channel.
According to a statement issued by the Dubai Government Media Office the new YouTube channel demonstrates Sheikh Mohammed’s, “interest in adapting modern technologies to consolidate direct interaction with society”. The channel is the first of its kind to be hosted by a leader in the Arab World. Sheikh Mohammed is also an active user on micro-blogging website Twitter. Sheikh Mohammed’s YouTube channel can be accessed by logging on to www.youtube.com and searching using his name in Arabic (Mohammed) or English (Mohammed bin Rashid). The channel will feature Sheikh Mohammed’s official and personal news, activities and initiatives. Officials confirmed that the channel will contain exclusive video material, while national celebrations in Dubai and across the United Arab Emirates will also be broadcast live. Visitors to the channel can also post videos they have recorded during events attended by Sheikh Mohammed, by emailing them to mbrvideos@gmail.com.
