Omantel offers WiFi for free across many hotspots in Muscat

In line with the Company strategy of enhancing customer experience and providing them with cutting-edge and world-class services. Omantel announced a new enhancement to its WiFi service with an exciting promotional offering.

This promotion that aims at adding value to the mobile broadband services that Omantel offers, will leverage off the Company’s extensively expanded WiFi hotspots locations, enabling customers to easily and freely access the WiFi network provided that they have subscribed to one of the available mobile broadband packages.

Shadi Al Abdulsalam, Senior Manager Product Development at Omantel Consumer Unit said:”Omantel always strives to satisfy customer requirements. With the increase of smartphones, broadband usage has become a necessity and no longer a luxury. With this exciting new offer customers with mobile broadband packages will receive free WiFi usage in locations where Omantel WiFi hotspots are available, allowing customers to freely enjoy surfing the internet while on the go.

Mohammed Al Farsi, Senior Engineer at Service Delivery Division said: “Customers today want the freedom and flexibility of staying online all the time wherever they are. Hence, we carefully selected the locations where our WiFi service is made available to enable as much as we can of our customers to enjoy this free service.”

“Omantel will be extending its WiFi hotspots across Oman in coffee shops, restaurants, shopping malls and public locations. Initially will be starting off in Muscat and expanding through other locations and regions.”

“Customers can easily avail this promotion by sending the key word “WiFi” to 90355 and then they will receive a username and password. Then all they have to do is enable WiFi from their devices and select “Omantel” from the list of WiFi providers and then insert the provided username and password. Customers can utilize the free data usage for up to 30 days from the date of the activation and it can be used in numerous locations where the WiFi hotspots are available.” Added Shadli Al Abdulsalam.
