Biography:

Mr. Izhar Ahmad is a telecommunications market research and information design professional, with an engineering educational background and experience in carrying out marketing and business development research as well as gathering business intelligence on regional telecoms markets.

He is a founding member of Teletimes International’s editorial board and has been catering to mission-critical editorial requirements; providing direct linguistic and substantive editing support to the magazine; acting as a quality-control agent; and authoring media coverage reports on several regionally-held industry conferences. lzhar’s articles have also been featured in the magazine. He delivered a self-authored speech at Pakistan’s first national seminar on Universal Service Funding, organized by Teletimes and held under the patronage of the Ministry of IT & Telecom — Government of Pakistan.

Mr. Ahmad has over ten years’ combined experience in broad-spectrum writing, research and formulating as well as directing strategic information, which includes, inter alia, technical and concept proposals, white papers, draft charters, strategic viewpoints and abstracts, market research analyses, telecoms regulatory information, CEO and minister-level speeches, engineering documentation and product manuals, marketing materials, and authoring or designing publications on regional regulatory activities and market performance of countries of the Middle East and South Asia. He has been the founding market research manager with a telecoms management consulting and professional services company and director of telecoms and lCT market research with a tri-regional operators’ industry association.

As a business research project manager and chief information designer, Izhar has spearheaded business intelligence and information design, and single-handedly drafted key documents, for consumption by the leadership of SAMENA Council, Thuraya, Saudi Telecom Company, Oman Telecom, Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA), Ministry of IT & Telecom (Pakistan), Ministry of Health (Pakistan), USAID, Arab Regulators Network (AREGNET), Etisalat, Nokia Siemens Networks, and other telecommunications organization within the South Asia — Middle East — North Africa region.

Schooled in North America from secondary through to post-graduate studies, Izhar is an alumnus of the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering & Applied Science, named for IBM Corporation’s founder Thomas J. Watson. He was ceremoniously inducted into Eta Kappa Nu engineering honor society, USA, as a lifetime member. Currently, he is working on national-level concept projects as a member of a strategic business development team in Pakistan and is also a knowledge advisor to the telecoms market research team of a tri-regional, UAE-headquartered telecoms operators’ association. Following PMP training, Izhar is pursuing his PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
