‘Smart Court’ campaign launched in Dubai

Dubai Courts Department (DCD) has launched a campaign, titled ‘Smart Court’ that aims to provide the best ideas possible to develop and improve services and procedures for smartphone applications.

The campaign will be conducted under the slogan ‘Your Suggestions Make the Future,’ and is intended to assist in DCD’s aim of supporting the nomination of Dubai to host the Expo 2020, according to Dr Ahmad Bin Hazeem Al Suwaidi, DCD’s Director General.

“The ‘Smart Court’ campaign is designed to achieve the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,” Dr Al Suwaidi told a gathering of DCD section heads, directors and staff while launching the campaign.

DCD’s Director General said in line with Shaikh Mohammad’s ‘Smart Government’ initiative, they launched the ‘Smart Court’ initiative as it aspires to achieve DCD’s vision, namely ‘leadership in court performance.’

“In order for DCD to establish the UAE as an e-country, and to keep up with rapid changes taking place in the world in its transition to the digital economy based on knowledge, we are looking forward to realising the vision of the wise leadership as soon as possible. This will assist us to evolve into a ‘Smart Court’ based on modern technology, allowing our clients to complete their work and business transactions, and reach their objectives, in the shortest, fastest and most accurate way,” he added.

Dr Al Suwaidi called on members of the judiciary and legal institutions in Dubai to generate as many creative ideas as possible, in order to contribute to upgrading DCD’s performance.

This process will also contribute to the development and improvement of services and procedures that are delivered via smartphone applications, he concluded.

DCD has enabled the staff of the Dubai Government to take part in the campaign.

Valuable awards will be given to those who suggest the best creative ideas.

DCD will be receiving suggestions through its ‘Nebras’ smartphone application.
