Batelco Introduces SMS Chat for Mobile Customers

Batelco, the Kingdom’s leading mobile services provider has introduced SMS Chat which gives mobile customers the facility to engage in text ‘conversation’ with numerous friends simultaneously.
With SMS Chat, Batelco’s customers can send a text message to a group of selected people with a single text and any of the people in the group can reply to all with a single text message.
Customers can create as many as 50 groups, to make keeping in touch with friends and family even easier. For example, a family group, sisters, brothers, best friends, work colleagues etc. Each group can include up to 5 people and customers may choose any names they like for their groups.
Best of all, with SMS Chat there are no monthly charges or registration charges and each SMS is priced at 50 fils regardless of the number of people included in the group.
To start using SMS Chat is easy – simply send an SMS with ‘CHAT’ followed by the mobile number(s) you want to include, to 2000. For example send – CHAT 39xxxxxx, 38xxxxxx – to 2000 and you will receive a confirmation that the chat is now initiated.
All your messages are shared among the added mobile numbers and in turn they can reply back, with the message going to the entire group. It is also possible to add new friends to an existing group by sending ADD followed by the mobile number(s) you want to add to any existing group.
There are several other useful and fun options as part of SMS Chat. To discover all the options and commands, send the text ‘HELP’ to 2000, which is free of charge or visit www.batelco.com. Alternatively customers may phone 196 or visit any Batelco Retail Shop for details.
Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi said that SMS Chat was being introduced as part of Batelco’s ongoing commitment to deliver much-in-demand services for the benefit of their valued customers.
