Batelco wins Bahrain eContent award

Batelco, the kingdom’s leading integrated communications provider, has been awarded the Bahrain eContent award in the e-Entertainment category at a ceremony held recently.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and president of the SCICT (Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology) presented the award to Batelco Bahrain chief executive Rashid Abdulla for the company’s O Cinema service found on cinema.o.com.bh.
Batelco launched the O Cinema service earlier last year and was the first company to launch such a service in Bahrain and the Gulf region.
With O Cinema, Batelco customers can book and buy their cinema tickets anytime and anywhere by visiting cinema.o.com.bh online or on their mobiles. The convenient service allows customers to select the Bahrain cinema, number of tickets and movie of their choice, along with the show time. In addition, the latest enhancement added earlier this month allows customers to view the seating layout and select from the available seats.
“This innovative and convenient O  Cinema service, which has been a huge success, means that there is no need to queue, as customers may go directly to the quick serve machine, enter their confirmation code and collect their selected tickets,” said Batelco Group general manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi.
