du was presented with the CSR Label from Dubai Chamber during a recent ceremony held at XXX, Dubai. The prestigious acknowledgement was bestowed upon the company as recognition for its extensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts and the levels of commitment demonstrated to continuing best CSR practices.
This latest recognition comes in the wake of du having released its first Sustainable Development Report in October 2011, and after having been listed as number one in the region for exemplary Corporate Governance practices on the S&P/Hawkamah Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Index 2011.
“Our mission is to add life to life, and that we are being recognised by Dubai Chamber for our efforts towards our Corporate Social Responsibility is an honour. Receiving the CSR Label is representative of our dedication to improving the communities that we serve, be it terms of economy, ecology or sociality,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du. “We would like to thank the Dubai Chamber for presenting us with this honour, and we extend our congratulations to the other awardees this year as well, for receiving this proud recognition alongside us.”
The Dubai Chamber CSR Label has been designed to provide a diagnostic framework, learning and development tool that will help to refine and improve CSR strategy, policies and practice in the UAE. It provides a clear voluntary standard for CSR implementation in Dubai and elsewhere in the UAE; reviews, evaluates and gives feedback on companies’ CSR strategy and actions, and provides the ability for companies to communicate better with stakeholders about their CSR commitment and practice.
