France Telecom's pay-TV services flourish

France Telecom is continuing to enjoy success for its pay-TV services around the world, with 4.1mn subscribers globally by the end of 2010, up 28{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} (or 902,000 customers) from one year previously.
In France the telco had reached 3.505mn customers for its pay-TV services (delivered by IPTV and satellite) by the end of last year, up 27{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} year-on-year, while in Poland it had reached a total of 544,000 subscribers, up a substantial 46{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} year-on-year.
Orange recently unveiled substantial enhancements to its IPTV offer in France through the addition of a new top-tier channel package, the introduction of new information services, and the launch of a new application which can stream content from Orange cinéma series to a variety of screens including Android devices.
The company has also recently formed a wide-ranging cooperation with Germany’s Deutsche Telekom, covering a number of new growth areas including technical cooperation on home media servers, development of cross border e-Health services, connected car technology and in-car infotainment services, and content and technical enablers for TV and video services
Total revenues across all operations and markets for 2010 reached €45.503bn, up 0.6{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} from one year previously (excluding regulatory effects), while net profits rose 28{e1f18614b95d3cd6e4b3128e1cd15d99b042a60a5a19c19b7a8e07e7495efa10} by the same comparison to reach €4.88bn.
