Main One Cable CEO calls for Nigerian broadband strategy

Nigeria: The CEO of underwater cable system Main One Cable, Funke Opeke, has again called on the Nigerian government to create a national broadband strategy. Opeke told ThisDay that national strategies to enable broadband penetration were being implemented worldwide. She urged the Nigerian government to enable a strategy that defines how improved access and lower cost of broadband can be achieved across Nigeria. Opeke reiterated that most countries were increasingly focused on implementing broadband strategies because of the proven impact on economic development.
