Microsoft highlights technologies for schools

Microsoft Qatar, part of Qatar Science and Technology Park, recently hosted an event highlighting its technologies available to private schools in Qatar.
The event, coordinated with Qatar’s Supreme Education Council (SEC), showcased the kind of benefits that schools and pupils will gain from Microsoft’s initiatives such as Partners in Learning and the Shape the Future Program.
“At Microsoft we see education as being paramount in laying foundations for future social and economic stability of countries, as well as being a basic human right,” said Mohammad Hammoudi, country manager, Microsoft Qatar.
“Therefore events like this highlight the kind of initiatives Microsoft has developed, and how we can work closely with governments to improve and develop education, contributing to a secure future. Moreover, events like these showcase how technology can expand the power of education and unlock the potential of students, educators and schools,” he added.
Nabil Nusheibeh, general manager, Ebla Computer Consultancy, said: “In partnership with Microsoft Qatar, Ebla is committed to bringing the latest educational technology solutions to deliver exciting learning experiences for students across the country and   transform education so that students get the skills they need to succeed in a competitive environment.”
Microsoft also staged several demos at the event for improving operational efficiencies, such as Microsoft Learning Gateway, cloud services and Windows Multi Point Server, in addition to showcasing products like Kinect, which can play a part in innovation and creativity in education.
