Nigeria: MTN Nigeria has commissioned an e-library at the University of Benin. MTN Foundation chairman Hamzat Ahmadu said the project marks the successful completion of the fourth phase of the Foundation’s project UniversitiesConnect. Three earlier phases of the project have been completed at the University of Lagos, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The library was equipped with 128 computers, three servers, two high-capacity printers, a soundproof generator, VSAT equipment and two years internet connectivity subscription paid. The Universities Connect library is linked to world class digital libraries across the world, with access to electronic books, journals and magazines in various subject areas.
