The FTTH Council Europe has just announced that Christian Ude, Lord Mayor of the city of Munich, will address the audience of the FTTH Conference 2012 in Munich during the official opening ceremony on 15 February 2012. The FTTH Conference is the largest FTTH event in the world. With both the Gold and Silver sponsorships already sold out more than three months before the event, its 9th edition in Munich is expected to be a worthy successor to the last event in Milan, which gathered 3,000 participants. The event takes place on 15-16 February 2012 at the ICM in Munich, with pre-conference workshops on 14 February. The FTTH Conference will exhibit the latest FTTH solutions, display how FTTH can optimize content and application delivery, discuss the topic of financing Europe’s next generation fibre-optic broadband infrastructure, based on success stories including a specific session focussing on Germany.
The conference is under the patronage of Bitkom, the German Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media (www.bitkom.org), and will donate a €3 euro “green donation” from each paying guest to German nature conservation group NABU (www.nabu.de).
