A cut to an undersea cable near Suez on 25 December has not affected Omantel’s customers, MuscatDaily.com reported. Omantel said traffic was rerouted through alternative international cables. The South-East Asia- Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SEA-ME-WE3) cable section near the Suez station was cut, interrupting traffic on the SMW3 cable going east to west including some Internet, voice and data services of Omantel. However, east-bound traffic from Omantel through the SMW3 cable remained operational.
