Omantel, the leading telecommunications company in Oman, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Costa Coffee to provide wireless internet access (WiFi) in five main outlets namely, City Centre Qurum, City Centre Seeb, Madinat Sultan Qaboos, Bariq AL Shatti and Oasis Mall at Shatti Al Qurum .
The new partnership will mean that thousands of coffee drinkers can now easily access their emails and browse the internet free of charge when they visit any Costa Coffee outlet.
Omantel is committed to ensuring as widespread access as possible to the internet across Oman and this announcement is the latest initiative towards achieving that objective. From now, Costa Coffee customers with WiFi equipped laptops or PDAs can enjoy free WiFi services for up to a one hour linked to purchase to surf the internet.
Omantel’s hotspot service is based on Wireless Fidelity WiFi technology which is currently the prevalent wireless technology for mobile computing and is now a common feature for high-end mobile phones and PDA’s.
Commenting on the new partnership agreement, Ahmed Ali Al Ojaily, Manager of Connectivity Solutions of Omantel Corporate Business Unit said: “This agreement is another milestone in our plans to partner with major Coffee houses in the Sultanate. Through this partnership, coffee lovers will not only enjoy their favourite coffee, but also ensure them a reliable high speed internet access in Costa Coffee branches”.
