PCCW Solutions wins Middle South Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau contract to provide Control Tower Simulator solution

PCCW Solutions, a subsidiary of Hong Kong’s premier telecommunications provider, PCCW Limited, has won a contract to provide the Middle South Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China with a Control Tower Simulator (CTS) solution. PCCW Solutions will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of the CTS system.
PCCW Solutions has successfully implemented a CTS System for East China Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China previously. Through this new contract, PCCW Solutions’ CTS solution footprint will be extended to cover major provinces administered by the Middle South and East China bureaus, including the two regional air traffic control centers in Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The CTS solution, which provides training for tower controllers, will simulate real-life air traffic environment based on virtual reality technology, and support preparation, progress, recording, playback and evaluation of training. It will help enhance civil aviation safety through improved training in terms of quality and effectiveness.

The Middle South regional bureau is one of the seven regional units of the Air Traffic Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China and is responsible for managing the airspace of Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces.
