Samsung takes one patent lawsuit back on Apple

Samsung has a number of patent lawsuits filed against Apple while the latter too has almost an equal number of lawsuits ongoing against the former. Samsung has decided to drop one of them in a bid to streamline its legal proceedings, as it had claimed.
According to sources, Samsung will persist to defend its patent rights by way of a counter claim, in response to a suit filed in the same court in California earlier by Apple.
The lawsuit battle between the two companies had begun when Apple had initiated a claim in which it said that Samsung’s well-accepted touchscreen phones gave the impression of striking similarities with regard to its own iPhone. The two companies are fighting it out in courts at least in five countries now. The most recent being Samsung’s case with the US ITC looking to prevent imports of Apple products that it believes to have infringed its patents.
