Federal Minister for Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Friday said that during last decade, the country witnessed rapid development in the telecommunication industry which was playing an important role in boosting the economy of country. Addressing an International Industry Awards ceremony organized by monthly TeleTimes, Dr. Shaikh said that he was feeling honour to attend such a ceremony in which success stories of different individuals and companies were being celebrated. “The people who are contributing in the development of the national economy must be recognized and rewarded”, the minister added.
Chief Editor, TeleTimes, Khalid Athar said on the occasion that TeleTimes was widely recognized in Asia, Africa and Middle East as one of the best IT and Telecommunication magazine.
He said that TeleTimes has organized first annual “TeleTimes International Industry Awards” ceremony to recognize the services rendered by different telecom industries.
“The awards are being bestowed upon telecommunications and technology organizations as well as industry leaders who have made a substantial difference to the regional ICT and technology industry and have expended their energies and resources to realize promised value for the end-users”, Khalid Athar added.
Earlier, Dr. Hafeez Shaikh conferred 17 different awards on leading industries in the telecommunication sector.
