Batelco as one of the major sponsors of education in the Kingdom is delighted once again to sponsor the UoB (University of Bahrain) Career Day which will take place at the university’s Sakhir campus on March 21st, 22nd and 23rd. This is the 12th year that Batelco will participate in the event and the Company’s 8th year as the event’s main sponsor.
Batelco General Manager Human Resources Bahrain Suhaila Alnowakhda presented the sponsorship cheque to UoB Vice President for Community Service & Alumni Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Mansour Al Shehab, at a presentation held at Batelco Hamala Headquarters recently.

Batelco’s Career day stand, which will be the biggest at the annual event, will be located in the centre of the Main Hall and it is expected that around 800 students will visit the stand every day to meet Batelco industry experts who can answer questions and give advice based on their years of experience in their respective fields. As an added bonus for students, Batelco will offer a special package designed with students in mind, during the 3-day event.
Shaikh Ahmed said that Batelco is delighted once again to support Career Day which has been such an important part of the UoB calendar for years.
“Career Day provides the perfect opportunity for university students to find out more about careers in the telecommunications industry as well as the wider job market,” he said.
“The event will provide a clear picture for all students about the career prospects available at Batelco, and what kind of qualifications Batelco looks for. Batelco’s HR personnel will also demonstrate how to apply for Batelco careers online,” he added.
Prof. Dr. Ali Mansour Al Shehab thanked Batelco for its generousity and stressed that their continuous support for the university’s activities would benefit the work market in the Kingdom.
“The continued sponsorship of this event has created a unique relationship between the university and one of the major companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will surely contribute to further boosting mutual co-operation,” said Prof .Dr. Al Shehab.
Batelco’s CE for Bahrain Rashid Abdulla said that he very much looked forward to attending the opening of Career Day 2011 and meeting UoB officials, staff and students.
“We are delighted to support the educational development and career prospects of the UoB students as today’s students are the future of Bahrain.”
