TRA Launches a Series of Online Surveys on New Telecommunication Services

Pursuant to its goal to achieve the highest levels of services in the UAE, and proceeding from its firm belief in the importance of the opinions of users as a core factor for quality assessment, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) launched a series of short consumer opinion online surveys to better understand the potential take-up of a new services that will be introduced soon in the UAE telecommunications market.
Commenting on the surveys, H.E. Muhammad Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General said: “We are working tirelessly to improve the quality of telecommunications services provided to users in order to reach the desired telecom environment we are seeking, which falls within our strategic goals in the TRA. There is no doubt that feedback and receiving users opinions is the best way to judge the quality of services. Therefore, we made the decision to launch this series of online surveys, which are innovative and leading in this field in our region. The surveys aim at reaching realistic feedback on how our services are perceived.”
“The surveys are designed in a brief and simple manner in both Arabic and English, enabling us to obtain the maximum amount of feedback. The decision to conduct the surveys online allows us to reach the widest targeted group due to the fact that nearly every house in the UAE has access to the internet. We are reviewing the potential take-up of new telecommunications services to be launched soon in the local market.” Al Ghanim added.
The new services subject to this surveys are: Mobile Number Portability (MNP) – a service that allows users to switch between mobile operators while maintaining their current mobile number i.e. your number will remain the same. Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS) – a service ,from a fixed home or business telephone, that allows users to select, in advance, an operator other than their current fixed line provider to carry their domestic and international calls without having to dial a prefix/code.. Fixed Broadband Internet Services – access to the internet provided over a home or business line at speeds of between 256 Kbps and up to 100 Mbps.
Based on its desire to ensure the highest levels of participation in these surveys that will be beneficial to the level of provided services, and reflect positively on convenience of use, satisfaction and the smoothness of usage, the TRA is pleased to announce that it has dedicated a webpage for this campaign.
