TRA visits the Al Barzah Elderly Nursing Home

A high-level delegation of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) headed by H.E. Majed Al Mesmar, Deputy Director General, visited the Al Barzah Elderly Nursing Home in Al Mamzar-Dubai. The visit aimed at assessing the conditions of senior citizens living in the center, and is in-line with TRA’s social responsibilities towards the society in the UAE, and stems from its belief in the importance of social contributions towards all causes including humanitarian efforts.

The delegation of high-level officials and employees was received by members of the public relations section of Al Barzah Center. They accompanied the TRA visitors in a tour of all sections within the facility. Additionally, they briefed the visitors on the services provided at the nursing home, which are centered on a mission to create a ‘home away from home’ for these senior citizens and providing them with the care and warmth of a family. Deputy Director General had brief conversations with the residents of the center, affirming that they have a special status in the hearts and minds of society members and governmental agencies.

Commenting on the visit, H.E. Al Mesmar said, “The aim of the visit in the final days of the Holy Month will definitely make them feel happy and recognized and to make sure that their situation and needs are being met. We, at TRA, consider such visits a responsibility that we have to uphold, rather than seeing it as just a mere social contribution. We do not perform such activities from a duty point-of-view only; we are glad to participate as such activities speak to the great importance given by the TRA to the humanitarian causes and its social responsibilities.”
“We took note of all facilities in the infirmary center, and noticed they were of a comforting-level. The quality of services provided was reflected in the satisfaction we saw in the faces of the senior citizens. We expressed our readiness to provide any possible assistance to the management of the center in order to help them continue with their noble humanitarian mission, which indeed requires ample patience and effort. We ask the Al-Mighty God to reward the center staff for their honesty and tenderness in dealing with the residents,” he added.
H.H Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti Al Maktoum, CEO of Social Care in the Community Development Authority said: “the visit of the TRA delegation headed by H.E. Majid Al Mesmar, Deputy Director General of the TRA, comes from his commitment to the elderly category in society and acknowledgement to the great virtue that they bestowed to fathers and generations and their role in building the Union. The visit also confirmed the coherence and synergy enjoyed by the UAE society at the level of leadership and people”.
During the visit, the TRA delegation distributed gifts to the elderly people at the center in a gesture of appreciation and care; also congratulated them on the occasion Eid, wishing them the best of health and peace. The Elderly people thanked the TRA for its care, and for making them feel that there are a part of its family. They also extended their thanks to the staff at the center for their hard work and dedication.
