VIVA scheduled to participate in the Arabian Information and Communication Security Conference in early October

In alignment with Kuwait Telecommunications Company VIVA’s interest to participate in beneficial social activities in Kuwait; the company is set to be involved with this year’s Arabian Information and Communication Security Conference on October 3-4, that will focus on security of information with the presence of industry specialists.
VIVA announced that the conference is scheduled for this upcoming October under the sponsorship of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah. This distinctive experience will include meetings, comprehensive seminars, informative lectures and leading panel discussions addressing numerous subjects and will incorporate a specialized exhibition and related workshops for the associated companies.
Expert event supervisors, United Marketing & Organizing Exhibitions Company (UNIEXPO) will collaborate with the Central Agency of Information Technology. Eager to stay proactive during the two day event, VIVA has arranged for an educational activity for participants during the first day of the conference, and will present a research paper titled, ‘Security Risks of Mobile Devices and Laptops’.
VIVA, CEO, Salman Al-Badran stated, “the focus of the research paper is to embody the means of modern technology into the field of communication, and to identify the various security risks that may threaten individuals and communities through the abuse of such technical means,” adding, “information security is a major concern for our modern society and this conference will contribute to raising the level of awareness to the importance of information security.”
Al-Badran explained his objective for the conference is for participants to focus on discussion and exchange, as well as dissemination of any information related to information security and networks, and to distinguish the latest methods of risks and the development of response methods. He added the conference will also be concentrating on increasing the awareness of the importance of information security in terms of the continued efforts required to protect the ever-changing nature of all threats.
Al-Badran concluded his statement by emphasizing that the conference is a rare opportunity to observe other countries’ experiences in aiming to build information security systems, as well as discuss whether new legislation is required, or if amendments to existing legislation in building a reliable legal environment for information security is necessary.
The Arabian Information and Communication Security Conference will be held during the first week in the month of October 2011. It is designed to combine the experiences and characteristics of several countries in their approach to information security and communication projects for e-commerce systems. It will also focus on other systems with high security sensitivity including information security, financial and health. In collaboration with the conference seminars, a special exhibition and meetings, participants can evaluate the trends and technical solutions to the security of modern information and communication.
