The ICT congress is scheduled to hold at the Eko Hotel, Lagos from Tuesday, May 8th – Thursday, 10th, 2012.
According to the company, WAFICT 2012 will provide a credible platform to further demonstrate Airtel’s exciting and innovative data offerings, adding that Airtel currently has the largest 3.75G network in Nigeria, covering all the 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Speaking on the company’s sponsorship and participation at the ICT congress, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Rajan Swaroop said the Telco operator is excited to be partnering with WAFICT, saying that it will use the forum to exhibit some of its latest value propositions in its data/Internet product’s segment.
“We commend the organizers of WAFICT; Airtel is always happy to be part of WAFICT. Indeed, WAFICT is a leading ICT congress just as Airtel is a product leader and trail blazer in all the market it operates. In Nigeria, we currently have the largest 3.75 network because of our commitment to delight telecoms consumers across the country. Definitely, we are taking Nigeria’s largest 3G network to this year’s WAFICT,” he said.
Organizers of WAFICT 2012 congress and exhibition say the event will open new horizons, introduce new technologies and provide greater insights for governments and regulators in the sub-region to benefit from new trends and potentials in the technological arena.
The Congress will highlight the theme: Bridging West Africa’s Digital Divide through Broadband and bring together telecoms regulators and operators across the sub-region with top notch speakers to chart the course for the industry’s growth.
WAFICT 2012 will also provide a platform to hear from Governments and Regulators in West Africa on their policies on broadband and strategies for deployment; from equipment manufacturers, mobile operators, telecom operators, Internet Service Providers, experts, and many more, from across the world, what potential exists in broadband and their offerings for the sub-region.
