Ayaadi announces second week winners of “Together We Read” competition

Etisalat’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative Ayaadi, continues the “Together We Read” competition, an initiative that has witnessed wide participation from highly competitivestudents from across the UAE. Ayaadi announced today the names of the second round winners of the competition, organized in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Education. The competition that began on June 29th 2012, will see three winners every week and will run for a period of four weeks in total.
H.E. Khawla Al Mualla, Assistance undersecretary for educational environment and activities sector at the Ministry of Education and Amal Al Koos, Director Etisalat Foundation “Ayaadi” handed out theprizes to each of the three winners from the second week at a ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarter in Dubai. Aya Nabil basiouni from Emirates Private School – in the first level category, HusamMohammed Ahmed Dowas from Al Manhal International Private School – in the second level category, and Bilal Marwan Abu Rahma from Al Safa Secondary School – in third level category, won iPads for their winning entries.
Ayaadi’s “Together We Read” competition aims at encouraging students to read and engage in self-learning, while using their free time for productive activities for expanding their knowledge. The competition results are announced on a weekly basis.
Students participate in “Together We Read” competition by reading books and answering questions related to them. The questions in the competition are posted on the e-library website every week. The first week saw students from across the country and from different educational levels participate in the competition.
Speaking on the participation in the competition, Amal Al Koos, Managing Director, Ayaadi said, “Together we Read, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, has achieved a large number of participating entries and very positive results in terms of answers posted by students on the e-library website. This reflects students’ interest in the content of this competition, as well as in improvingtheir general knowledge through reading.”
Ayaadi, launched in 2011 by Etisalat, is the platform for a national social project that seeks to achieve significant objectives. Its strategic objectives are oriented towards achieving sustainable growth for the UAE community through provision of technology solutions in the education sector and other social sectors. This initiative also seeks to raise awareness among individuals and institutions on various socially relevant issues, and encourages them to contribute to voluntary work in line with their experience.
