Batelco, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, has held a Blood Donation day at its Headquarters in Hamala. The event was organised by Batelco HR Division in response to a call for support from Salmaniya Medical Centre’s Central Blood Bank. A number of medical staff from Salmaniya Medical Centre attended and supervised the blood collection campaign.
Over 120 staff from Batelco’s Hamala and Salmaniya offices turned up on the day to offer their support for the worthy cause.
Batelco Bahrain HR General Manager Suhaila Alnowakhda, who attended the event, said that everyone involved was delighted with the great response from staff to the call to donate blood.
“We were really pleased with the amazing turn-out, especially as so many employees that are based at our Salmaniya branch took the time to come to Hamala and take part in this great humanitarian effort.”
“Batelco’s senior management also provided their full support to ensure the success of the campaign and a number of them attended to make their contribution on the day,” she said.
“Donating blood is an extremely worthwhile cause as it helps to save lives in emergency situations. Due to the success, we hope to repeat the occasion in the future,” concluded Mrs. Alnowakhda.
