Batelco Supports Bahrain Cancer Society

Batelco, through its Al Dana department, recently helped the Bahrain Cancer Society organize the “Stand up to Cancer” walk at Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd, where participants were encouraged to walk or run on a track relay style for 3.5 kilometres.
The activity, which was part of a nationwide awareness campaign carried out by the Bahrain Cancer Society, aimed to encourage the public to stand by cancer patients and their families to help them through their illness.
The annual event was held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Bahrain Cancer Society.
Batelco’s Al Dana employees volunteered their time at the event by taking on the role of Parking Marshals who received participants and guests at the park. In addition to that, they held a road show via Batelco’s mobile shop to offer customers Batelco products and services.
“Fighting cancer and mitigating its consequences on patients and their relatives has become a noble goal that nations across the world are working diligently to achieve,” said Batelco Group General Manager Media Relations Ahmed Al Janahi
“As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Batelco is offering its support for Bahrain Cancer Society to help them extend their professional assistance to all those in need in our local community,” he added
The event was held under the slogan “Early Detection Saves Lives” and aimed to create awareness among the Bahraini community through highlighting the significance of regular medical check-ups.
