du opens lines for customers to call South Sudan

Adding more to its customer experience and furthering its global connectivity, du has announced the pricing for calls to The Republic of South Sudan. Customers can now call South Sudan, which became an independent state in July 2011, with rates starting from just AED1.89 per minute.
“Improving upon our customer experience and extending their international reach is our priority. We are pleased to have opened communication lines to the newly formed Republic of South Sudan, allowing our customers to connect to even more international destinations at affordable rates,” said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du. “Our competitive international calling rates feature some of the most value-added pricing for talking to the world from a landline or mobile, or while roaming with our One World, One Rate plan.”
The international dialling code for South Sudan is +211. To connect, customers should dial +211, followed by the destination’s designated number.
Off Peak calls (made between 9pm – 9am) will be charged at AED1.89 per minute. Calls made at all other times will be charged at AED2.40 per minute. Out-bound roaming with One World, One Rate will be charged as per the Rest of World fee, starting at AED5 per minute for calls, AED2 per SMS and AED1 per 50KB of data consumed.
