Nigeria ended February with a total 131.82 million phone subscribers in the country, up from 128.01 million in January, according to figures from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Almost 10 million of these lines were considered inactive. The GSM operators had 92.01 million active subscribers, up from 91.05 million the previous month. The CDMA networks fell to 4.03 million active lines, from 4.41 million in January, and fixed lines dropped to just over 578,000 from 688,000 a month earlier. The NCC estimates teledensity was at 69.01 percent in February, up from 68.68 in January.
