Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz honors STC patronage of world first Halal food conference


HRH Prince Sattam bin Abudlaziz, the Governor of Riyadh region honored STC for sponsoring the first World Conference on Regulating Halal Foodstuffs, which was organized by Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and took place last week, in Riyadh.

STC commented on the honoring, pointing that the technical sponsorship falls in line with backing functions and forums held in Saudi Arabia, which interacts with both local and world interests. STC is used to patronize various functions and initiatives of significance, in addition to backing a lot of otherwise social and awareness dissemination activities, which benefit all societal segments.
A fully equipped center to provide high speed online service, at the venue of the conference, was established by STC for participants use as well as other up-to-date technologies.
It’s noteworthy, that the Conference aimed to realize a number of themes among which are introducing the Sharia-compatible concept of Halal food, approval of its definition and understanding the different main technical and economic features of Halal foods and to promote cooperation and coordination between various governmental and regulatory bodies in the domain of foodstuffs.
The cooperation is to include non-governmental and voluntary institutions, too, on both regional and world stages.
