VIVA, Kuwait’s newest and most advanced mobile telecommunications service provider, has announced that it has recently sponsored and hosted ‘Knowledge Café’ workshops in Kuwait, featuring internationally renowned guest speaker David Gurteen, an experienced veteran in high technology industries, and founder of the Gurteen Knowledge Community – a global learning network of over 17,000 people in 160 countries. The workshops, which were organized by Dr. Bibi Al-Ajmi, took place on 4 and 6 June 2012 and were facilitated by Gurteen, who shared his experience in knowledge management with workshop participants.
Knowledge Café workshops, a concept which has been pioneered by Gurteen, have developed an international reputation as a method of providing ways of energizing an organization to take real advantage of conversation and consequent tangible business benefits. A key element of the Knowledge Café is the use of conversations and discussion to reach a deeper understanding of the business world. Knowledge Cafés are also widely regarded as a powerful sales tool to engage customers in useful conversation to better understand their needs and to better communicate a company’s product or service.
As part of its sponsorship of the Knowledge Café workshops, VIVA hosted an exclusive workshop on 6 June at Hotel Missoni for senior executives and CEOs from leading companies in Kuwait, including Zain, Wataniya Telecom, Gulf net, Fast-telco, Zajil Telecom, Mada Communications, Samsung Dealership, Hayat Communications, Future Communications Company, Quality Net, UPS, KNET and Kuwait Concierge.
Eng. Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Badran, VIVA’s Chief Executive Officer said: “The Knowledge Café has been a valuable learning experience. As a participant I was pleased to have the opportunity to share my experience and be part of a knowledge sharing culture which brought managers and technologists together to build relationships as well as exposing new business opportunities. By bringing groups together for an open creative conversation on a topic of mutual interest, we all had a unique opportunity to share collective knowledge, insights and ideas.”
VIVA will continue to host events and initiatives that will enhance business practices and stimulate the industry.
