For hundreds of years, the finest pearls in the world were found along the shores of Abu Dhabi. Nowadays, the capital of the UAE hosts the most fascinating mobile treasures: February 3rd – 5th, the world’s best app developers will present their innovations at WSA-mobile Global Congress in Abu Dhabi.
On a biennial basis, the congress brings together 40 outstanding mobile app producers with renowned experts, business leaders and government representatives. This year, Applications for Alzheimer patients and Diabetes self-care will be presented as well as mobile banking services and innovative apps for guerrilla marketing. “With app stores becoming the world’s most vibrant marketplaces, the question of quality content is getting crucial. The congress seeks to foster the richness of mobile content and showcase local apps with global relevance,” states WSA-mobile chairman and congress initiator Peter A. Bruck.
Grand jury selects Best of the Best
To qualify for the event, the app producers had to proof their product’s unique value in a UN-based contest that reaches out to 160 countries. At the global congress, an on sight jury will select the eight best apps from among the 40 invited products. They will be awarded WSA-mobile Global Champion 2013 at the grand gala evening in Jumeirah hotel at the Etihad towers.
Abu Dhabi hosts Mobile Masterminds
Besides the presentation of the world’s best apps, the congress will offer a platform for high level experts, industry leaders and government representatives to discuss latest innovation in mobile content. Renowned experts such as US star-author Janine Warner, mobile visionary Tomi Ahonen and Angry Birds co-creator Harri Koponen will be among the speakers. Furthermore, high ranking representatives of the Abu Dhabi government and the United Nations will attend the congress, which will take place in Jumeirah hotel at the Etihad towers.
