“We have taken all measures to protect our employees, customers & partners and to ensure business continuity”

Nexign CEO

Igor Gorkov, CEO – Nexign

How is your business currently dealing with the impact of COVID-19? Is your business operational through “work-from-home” or other hybrid policies?

Nexign employees have been practicing remote work for nearly a month. Luckily, our infrastructure supports distance work and due to well-established HR and software development processes it doesn’t really matter for us if the team is in the office or stays at home.

How do “work-from-home/hybrid” policies affect your business in terms of productivity? How long in the future can your business continue to be operational through these policies?

All measures that we, as a company, have taken to address the impact of COVID-19 are designed to protect the life and the health of our employees, customers and partners and to ensure business continuity.  As far as we are talking about software development process and support, our productivity won’t be affected. However, the implementation stage usually means that Nexign team works onsite, and nowadays the projects that were about to launch may be delayed.

We have a strong customer portfolio and I’m sure that our business will remain stable while the new business may indeed encounter some slowdown due to the overall market stagnation.

How has the supply chain behind your business been affected?

I can’t say that it was much affected but of course due to the volatility of currency exchange rates the costs of licenses and servers will increase.

How long do you think will the impact from COVID continue to last?

In our rapidly changing world, it is very difficult to make assumptions regarding the influence of COVID-19 on the world / national economy and on the IT sector in particular. The only thing that can be safely said right now is that the impact will be significant and that IT companies around the globe will have to restructure their HR and business processes under new realities. In the meantime, every challenge is an opportunity and we are ready to leverage this time to upscale our operational efficiency so that we continue providing high class products and services to our customers in the world-after-COVID-19.

Do you think it is still advisable for businesses to continue to invest in innovation related projects?

Yes, of course. Moreover, I’m sure that the pandemic will speed up the 5G rollout and digitalization of services.

Building fixed networks become time-consuming and risky while more elastic radio networks turn to be more and more suitable as a last mile solution.  The sad consequence of the pandemic is that direct human contact has become something people try to avoid by all means. This creates a high demand for e-commerce and the eSIM technology that provides mechanics for attracting new subscribers without physical shops. The situations when people are better stay at home will boost the demand for IoT solutions and telemedicine, and CPSs can be a driving force here too.

What will be the notable adverse effects of the pandemic in your industry that will be visible two months from now?

Mobile and digital services are more important than ever to support interaction between people, we consider it our primary duty to ensure full and uninterrupted work of these services. We will make all the necessary efforts to support our customers and their subscribers during these hard times.

What would you be your advice to your customers and vendors dealing with COVID-19?

Stay home, stay safe. We perfectly understand the burden and the responsibility that falls on the shoulders of our customers, and consider it our duty to support them by all possible means.
