Mr. Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of WorkSmart that organizes this event, said that it is held with the participation of female leaders in the technology and business sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the entire Arab region to discuss women leadership and innovation in a unique two-day dynamic setup. He added that men who support women’s advancement and leadership are welcome to participate in this virtual forum.

The forum will feature a variety of conversation sessions, including a keynote session, panel discussions, and technical lectures, as well as a mentorship session and an innovation session for women entrepreneurs, according to Al Hujairy. During these sessions, the forum also incorporates interactive activities to keep participants engaged. The forum will also include a virtual exhibition, which will run in parallel with the virtual forum to allow sponsors to promote their services on this platform.

The WomenTech Leaders Across MENA is a unique opportunity that will allow participants to interact with high caliber Tech industry women leaders from around the MENA region and listen to the latest technology trends and topics in the Mena region.

Women leading in a disrupted world

The “WomenTech Leaders Across Mena” virtual forum examines how women are dominating the labor market in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as the future of Arab women’s entrepreneurship in the region and offers career advice for those looking to pursue a successful career in the technology industry.

The forum will also focus on how women are leading business in the MENA region, and how they lead in a disrupted world focusing on dynamic verticals such as Fintech, EdTech, Cybersecurity, E-Commerce, and Digital Health among other sectors. The forum will also highlight the role of government in adopting digital transformation and how smart governments make our life easier.

The forum will also discuss how PR and media are tackled in tech markets, focusing on the B2B technology PR for companies in the digital economy, as well as the future of media and how technology is changing the media scene.

Today’s entrepreneurs’ tomorrow’s leaders

The ideation session “Today’s entrepreneurs tomorrow’s leaders“ taking place at the end of the forum, will inspire women entrepreneurs to learn from women leaders in the technology and business sectors, and allow them present their startups ideas to the session’s panelists and participants. Participants will be able to vote for the innovative startups that maybe eligible for potential investments and funds from the audience.

 Women Entrepreneurs and COVID-19

While the COVID-19 pandemic and its outcome have highlighted the need for ICT as instruments to boost SMEs’ resilience and competitiveness, they have also crippled many small firms that are not digitally ready. The forum’s speakers will address the role of ICT in supporting current and potential female entrepreneurs in the Arab world, by addressing the broader scene of entrepreneurship and the level of women’s participation in this field in the Arab region, as well as the challenges they face, and identifying ways to help them address these challenges.

Women entrepreneurs in the region have always struggled with issues such as a lack of appropriate business information and knowledge, as well as helpful networks, but the COVID-19 epidemic has highlighted the need of having more women in the tech industry.

Women’s Entrepreneurship in practice

The forum is an important opportunity to shed light on the reality of the Arab region and entrepreneurship, especially after the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship gained momentum over the last decade and has proven to be a valuable approach to creating job opportunities for women. Mobile phones, the Internet, and computers, in particular, have accelerated business growth, and at a time when ICT is increasingly being integrated into business practices, digital skills have become essential for developing business models and business plans, raising capital, and interacting with stakeholders.

Worth mentioning that WomenTech Leaders Across MENA virtual forum is sponsored by Infobip and supported by BTECH, AICTU and Alwane Society.
