The Making of realme 9 Pro+ Flagship Camera

The Making of realme 9 Pro+ Flagship Camera

Adhering to the brand concept of daring to leap, realme continues to bring incredible technological achievements and high-quality product design to young people worldwide. In the number series, realme continues to explore a fantastic image experience, making the flagship camera accessible.

With realme 8 Pro, we reimagined what a main camera could be in terms of resolution. As our camera engineers came together for 9 Pro+, the main question we asked ourselves was, what if a smartphone camera could capture excellent low-light photos?

With that in mind, today, we are excited to introduce a new imaging technology on the main camera that is generations ahead of other smartphones in its class. We are calling it ProLight Imaging Technology.

Our camera engineers have identified a few common factors that can affect your photos’ level of noise and clarity. They are a small camera sensor, lighting conditions, and motion shake.

To let you capture beautiful photos in any situation. ProLight Imaging technology achieves this by intelligently utilizing the large imaging sensor, pairing it with advanced digital noise reduction algorithms, and a dual stabilization system.

Sony IMX766 Flagship Sensor

let’s start with the image sensor. Sony IMX766 is a popular camera sensor in many flagship smartphones that typically costs over $600. Fifteen other mainstream flagships use the Sony IMX766 imaging sensor as part of their camera system. This massive 1/1.56 inch sensor makes it one of the biggest in its class. Compared with the iPhone 13, it’s a whopping 45% more light intake.

OIS+EIS, Dual Stabilization System

The sensor typically needs more time to capture light in low-light photography, making it effortless to get blurry images. As part of ProLight imaging technology, the main camera has optical image stabilization for photos and electronic image stabilization for videos. With optical image stabilization, the camera lens can now compensate for any unwanted movements, giving you better clarity and sharpness.

AI Noise Reduction Engine 3.0

But with a smartphone, you’re limited to the physical size of the camera sensor. So we turned to computational photography to further enhance the sensor’s capabilities to improve image noise level. Our ProLight imaging technology comes integrated with AI noise reduction engine 3.0, reducing noise much faster and more accurately.

When you press the shutter, 9 Pro+ takes a burst of several photos. The AI noise reduction engine employs an image averaging algorithm to find the differences, and remove as much digital noise as possible. But because digital noise comes in different shapes and sizes, the noise reduction engine uses deep learning to identify and remove these shapes, presenting beautifully clear low-light photos with far less digital noise.

This is the pro light imaging technology powering the main camera. Now you can capture every moment beautifully no matter how different the lighting condition is. The 9 Pro+ features the best camera in the history of the realme number series. Powered by the all-new pro light imaging technology, 9 Pro+ can go head-to-head with flagship devices when it comes to low-light camera performance.
