stc network recorded an increase during the peak hours during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, while the volume of data traffic increased more than 67% compared to last year in the Haram area of Makkah. Moreover, the voice traffic in the Grand Mosque in Makkah also increased by 33% over last year.
stc also recorded an increase in the volume of data traffic of more than 51% compared to last year during peak hours in Makkah, while it recorded an increase in voice traffic in the Haram area of Makkah by more than 10% compared to last year.
stc Group enhanced its network capacity in Makkah by 13% compared to last year, increased the coverage of the 5G network by increasing its service locations by 25% in Makkah, and included the expansion of the 5G network in the Holy Mosque by 130% to ensure the best network performance to serve pilgrims at the Holy Mosque.
On the other hand, the Facebook application topped the list of the most data-consuming social networking applications on the stc network in the Grand Mosque in Makkah and its surrounding areas, followed by Tiktok, Snapchat, YouTube and Instagram. The daily average of these applications exceeded more than 43 thousand gigabytes in the same region.
These data reflect stc’s network’s high operational efficiency and its standard performance indicators that seek to ensure a distinctive digital experience for pilgrims and raise the level of quality of services, in line with the increase in the number of Umrah pilgrims and visitors during the holy month of Ramadan this year.
