DataMiner MediaOps.PLAN at IBC 2025

Skyline Communications will showcase the continuous evolution of its DataMiner MediaOps solution at IBC 2025 in Amsterdam. Over the past year, the solution has seen significant functional enhancements, usability improvements, and performance optimizations, underscoring Skyline’s ongoing commitment to invest in MediaOps as a cornerstone of next-generation media operations.

DataMiner MediaOps.PLAN is a full suite designed for booking teams, MCR teams, TX room operators, engineers, and IT staff at media content and service delivery organizations worldwide. It enables them to plan events, reserve technical and non-technical resources, and automate event setup and teardown. By combining Skyline’s expertise in modern ICT practices with deep media domain knowledge, MediaOps revolutionizes the way media operations are run. It enables media and entertainment companies to deliver better service quality and user experience, respond faster to business needs and technology innovations, and increase productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Reducing time to deployment from hours to minutes

One of the major milestones achieved earlier this year was the introduction of seamless deployment from the DataMiner Catalog. MediaOps can now be installed on cloud-connected DataMiner Systems with just one click, reducing the time to deployment from hours or days to mere minutes. This innovation significantly lowers the barrier for organizations to adopt the solution and immediately benefit from Skyline’s continuous stream of updates.

In addition, several new features have been added throughout the year, along with a wide range of performance and user experience improvements. Together, these enhancements make day-to-day operations smoother, more intuitive, and more collaborative across teams.

The most recent release during the summer added even more capabilities for operational teams, including:

• Smarter resource management with pre- and post-roll durations to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure smoother setup and wrap-up activities.

• Recurring jobs for easy planning of repetitive events such as daily news bulletins, weekly programs, or major sports competitions.

• Easier collaboration through one-click, shareable job URLs, enabling faster sharing and follow-up across users.

• Enhanced usability with more intuitive workflows and smarter timeline visualization.

Exclusive previews at IBC 2025

Skyline is also looking ahead, with continued investments in new functionality that will further extend the power of DataMiner MediaOps. Several of these innovations will already be demonstrated at IBC 2025. This includes a new satellite transponder scheduling UI, enabling operators to effortlessly book capacity slots without risking bandwidth conflicts.

Skyline will also preview AI-driven services for automatically extracting booking details from documents such as emails or PDFs, along with integrations into facility and asset management applications, and a service ordering and management suite. These upcoming capabilities highlight Skyline’s ongoing mission to provide media companies with the most advanced data-driven tools to stay ahead in a rapidly changing industry.

“Media operations are under continuous pressure to deliver more content, faster and with uncompromising reliability, but with the same or even fewer means than in the past. Agile and efficient operations are a crucial enabler for this. With each new release, we ensure our users can achieve exactly that,” said Reinout Daels, Product Manager at Skyline Communications.

“The adoption of DataMiner MediaOps by tier-one players such as DAZN and RTBF confirms the solution’s unique value in the market. These successful deployments, and the many more currently underway, are a clear testimony of our commitment to empower media organizations worldwide with future-proof, data-driven operations,” said Thomas Gunkel, Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications.
