Huawei showcases the World’s First Commercial Triple-Foldable Smartphone at MWC 2025

Huawei is showcasing its innovative HUAWEI Mate XT | ULTIMATE DESIGN, the world’s first commercial triple-foldable smartphone, at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Alongside this groundbreaking device, Huawei is presenting a range of premium flagship products that demonstrate how advanced technology can seamlessly integrate into everyday life.

A standout feature of Huawei’s showcase is the Mate XT, which incorporates proprietary hinge and screen technologies, enabling the screen to fold inward on one hinge and outward on another. The device also features a camera with a 10-size adjustable physical aperture, offering users enhanced flexibility for capturing high-quality images. At Huawei’s Consumer BG booth, a large display utilizing naked-eye 3D effects highlights the unique capabilities of this tri-fold phone. Visitors can also explore the HUAWEI Mate 70 series, equipped with an Ultra Chroma Camera that delivers exceptional color accuracy. In the Intelligence Scenario experience zone, attendees can try out features such as multi-exposure and AI retouching. Meanwhile, the Mate X6 area offers a hands-on look at some of the innovative materials used in the phone’s construction. For example, visitors are invited to cut through ice using a graphene sheet, showcasing the material’s impressive thermal conductivity.

Huawei is also spotlighting its extensive lineup of wearables by simulating real-life sports and health scenarios. In the cycling experience area, participants can compare real-time heart rate data from professional sports monitors with data captured by the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5, demonstrating the accuracy of the HUAWEI TruSense System. In the Health Glance zone, visitors can see the HUAWEI WATCH D2 in action. This wearable is the first smart device to be medically certified as a wrist-based ambulatory blood pressure monitor, highlighting its ability to measure multiple health indicators. Huawei has also brought a variety of premium smart wearables that combine elegant design with advanced features. Smart wearables have become a significant growth driver for Huawei’s consumer business, with the company leading the wearable market in shipments during the first three quarters of 2024. Last August, Huawei introduced the HUAWEI TruSense System, a comprehensive upgrade to its previous health metrics platform. This system, which monitors and analyzes health and fitness data, is prominently featured at MWC 2025.

The GoPaint experience zone has been a popular attraction, featuring artwork created by global artists using the HUAWEI MatePad’s exclusive GoPaint software. Powered by a professional brush engine and the FangTian Painting Engine 2.0, the software caters to both professional and aspiring creatives. This year, Huawei is promoting the MatePad Pro 13.2″ OLED PaperMatte Display, which offers vibrant colors while reducing glare and provides a pen-on-paper writing and drawing experience. The tablet is designed to work seamlessly with the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd generation), which features 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity, allowing users to fully utilize GoPaint’s diverse virtual brushes. The MatePad Pro 13.2″ also includes PC-level WPS Office functionality and a laptop-like interface, enabling flexible window zooming, keyboard-and-mouse interactions, and efficient multitasking through the Live-Multitask feature.

Huawei’s presence at MWC 2025 underscores its commitment to innovation across smartphones, wearables, and creative tools, showcasing how its technologies enhance user experiences in various aspects of daily life.
