R&M, the globally active Swiss developer and provider of high-end infrastructure solutions for data and communications networks, is expanding the family of SYNO fiber optic splice closures so that telecom companies can compact their infrastructures and expand Fiber-to-the-Home offerings in various ways. The SYNO-S fiber optic splice closures can be resealed. This is why the wiring can be retrofitted, densified, or changed quickly at any time. This is how vendors prepare their networks for future market developments and applications. The new splice closures from R&M are suitable for underground and aerial cabling and are the most challenging for outdoor use. They are certified in accordance with the demanding telecom standard Telcordia GR-771®.
Up to 3,456 splices
The new S-400 and S-500 fiber optic outdoor splice closures and their high-density variants support several configurations at the same time. Single fiber splices, ribbon fiber splices, and splitters can be combined on up to eight stacked tray modules. The maximum configuration of the S-500/HD splice closure offers space for up to 3,456 ribbon fiber splices. The eight lead-in segments of the SYNO fiber optic splice closures can be used for all common cable types including ribbon cables. They are individually sealed with gel blocks. Technicians can configure the splice closures on-site as required. The mounting of the cable entries, trays, splice, and splitter holders does not require any special tools.
