PCCW Solutions and Eastern Fibernet form strategic alliance to provide cloud computing services in Guangdong Province

PCCW Solutions, the IT and business process outsourcing services flagship of PCCW Limited, has formed a strategic alliance with Guangdong Eastern Fibernet (Eastern Fibernet) to provide cloud computing services in Guangdong Province.

The two companies will jointly develop cloud computing data centers in Guangdong and provide a wide range of cloud computing services, including desktop cloud, server cloud and cloud storage – customers will be able to access applications, data, files and storage over the Internet. The two companies will also tailor-make cloud application software solutions for government, financial institutions and large corporations.
PCCW Solutions is a pioneer in providing cloud computing services in Hong Kong. With the advanced data center infrastructure, international best practice and expertise, PCCW Solutions will also provide technical support and training, in addition to planning, building and operating the cloud computing platform.
Eastern Fibernet, jointly owned by the CITIC Group and Guangdong Pearl River Investment, operates the most extensive fiber network in Guangdong Province with more than 30,000 km covering the whole province and interconnecting with all major network operators.
In addition, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) will be able to make use of business applications from PCCW Solutions and other Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) from all over the world via PCCW Solutions’ Enterprise Solutions Superstore Alliance (ESSA). ESSA aggregates sophisticated applications on a cloud platform to make them easily available and more affordable for SMEs in what is known as a Software-as-a-Service model.
