At a Security event, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha, Cisco, met with its customers and discussed the increasing cyber security threats faced by the region.
Cyber security threats are increasing at a rapid pace and are affecting all organizations. Cyber criminals are getting more sophisticated and they work around the clock to attack their targets.
Cisco, supported by its global and local security experts, showed how it is focused on offering solutions that address and deliver ICT security that can enable, empower and enhance businesses. The event targeted both decision makers and technical experts who shared in the latest in the world of cyber security, threats, and the defense against them.
The event featured a comprehensive agenda including keynotes from Cisco executives, technical sessions, and networking opportunities with both local and global Cisco experts. Through technical sessions, Cisco reviewed the key cyber security issues and demonstrated the best approach and identified specific tools and processes needed to deliver secure and resilient results. Cisco also shared its security strategy with its partners to align and maximize customer protection from the increasing cyber security threats.
Key spokespeople at the event included Kah Kin Ho, Business Development Manager, Cyber Security at Cisco where he discussed the recent cyber threat landscape, and how we could approach cyber security from a risk management perspective; Den Sullivan, Head of Architectures and Enterprise, Emerging Markets, Cisco where he focused on “Security in an ever changing world, Free it up or lock it down, that’s the dilemma.” Discussions also included Cisco’s investment in its Security Intelligence Operations unit, the people and processes which compliment the security products, Cisco technology and offerings that deliver an architecture to detect, prevent and mitigate cyber threats.

Technological innovations are fundamentally changing the way people live, work, share information and communicate. Security threats continue to rise, last year there were 2.6 million identified threats worldwide and it has been predicted to increase to 5.7 million by 2013.

Now is the time for enterprises to transform their IT model to accommodate emerging borderless networks and face increasing security challenges. Our security event was a good opportunity to share useful knowledge with the business community in Doha so that the region can be better protected against cyber-crime.”
