Recognized increase of internet traffic by 740% and circuit’s voice by 800% during the stc Formula 1 Saudi Grand Prix and 67% of audience from Europe, America & Japan

stc has announced that communications network movement had exceeded unprecedented peak hours during the stc Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which was hosted in Jeddah over three days. Across the event area, the internet traffic increased by more than 740% and the internet circuit’s voice by more than 800%. This was the result of the high turnout of the public attending the event and international roaming guests from abroad, who set record numbers with an increase in the number at rush hour by more than 370%. The number of visitors attending the race from Europe, the Americas, China, Korea, Japan and the Gulf states reached 67%. The network was expanded at the event area with additional capacities of more than 275% to the original setting, including special extensions for the fifth-generation networks.

From the other side, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of stc Group, Prince Mohammad Bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al-Faisal, extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense on the occasion of the successful hosting of the Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Prince Mohammad Bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al-Faisal also thanked Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports and Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) on the success of the Formula 1 event.

Olayan Mohammed Al Wetaid, stc Group CEO who participated in crowing the winners, extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense.
