Huawei High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus unlocks the infinite possibilities of the digital future for the Middle East

Across the Middle East, governments and enterprises are prioritizing investments in digital transformation to unlock a new era of growth and prosperity for the region. While the region has always been at the forefront when it comes to adopting advanced technologies, in the last few years, the adoption and integration of next-generation technologies has accelerated at a pace never seen before.

The new era of digital transformation will lead to investments on information and communications technology (ICT) across the Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa (META) to top $233.8 billion in 2023, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). According to the global tech giant, Huawei this new chapter of digital transformation will bring four great changes in enterprise campus applications and terminals – wireless, IoT, cloud, and video.

Traditional enterprise campus networks are still in the era of simple data mainly serving emails and Internet access, the company explained. These traditional campus networks cannot meet the in-depth digital development needs of enterprises across the Middle East.

Networks are the most important infrastructure needed to enable campus services. A smart campus requires an “everything-aware” converged network so that people, things, and services in the campus are no longer isolated. However, as multiple service networks are converged, they inevitably take on new service development trends and face unprecedented challenges.

To help address these challenges, Huawei has proposed a new-generation campus network construction concept: high-quality 10 Gbps campus network. A truly high-quality network solution offers more than fast connections and also needs a more complex metrics system.

Recently, Huawei hosted the Huawei Network Summit (HNS) 2023 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and introduced its High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus to its customers across the Middle East to support their digital transformation goals and to continue contributing to the region’s digital future.

Speaking at the event, Leon Wang, President of the Network Domain, Huawei’s Data Communication Product Line, pointed out that digital transformation is an inevitable trend for enterprises of all sizes, bringing tremendous changes to enterprise campus applications and terminals. Against this backdrop, Huawei proposed a new philosophy of high-quality 10 Gbps campus network construction. The resulting benefits include ultra-high-speed wired/wireless access anytime, anywhere, flexible and easy-to-manage network architecture, quick deployment of branch services onto the cloud, and smooth video conferencing for 10,000 users, as well as automated and intelligent Operations and Maintenance (O&M).

The discussion, which attracted over 200 customers from diverse industries and organizations, also shed light on cutting-edge innovative technologies and hot topics, such as Wi-Fi 7, digital maps, and service experience assurance, and explored the infinite possibilities of future digital campus development.

At the Huawei Network Summit, Ali Aljariri, Senior Manager, Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (PJSC) — a local partner of Huawei — shared their successful practices of cooperating with Huawei for network managed services.

Moro Hub draws on Huawei’s extensive capabilities, such as full-lifecycle management, network-wide plug-and-play devices, minute-level device deployment, cloud-based inspection, and one-click fault diagnosis. In turn, this enables higher efficiency and superior network experience for customers and builds a national multi-tenant cloud-hosted network solution.

The concept of “high-quality 10 Gbps campus network” builds on four unique features: ultra-high-speed access, simplified architecture, simplified branch, and ultimate experience. This aligns with future-facing campus network design and paves the way for building smart campus networks needed to accelerate the digital upgrade of enterprise services.

The high-quality 10 Gbps campus network can create new values for various scenarios like office, production, and branch. It can allow the network speed in an office or room reaches 10 Gbps to support the bandwidth required for Virtual Reality (VR)-based immersive conferences.

At the event and in collaboration with GlobalData, a leading data analytics and consulting company, Huawei unveiled its Net Zero Campus Framework, a comprehensive guide for campuses to achieve net zero carbon emissions by leveraging Huawei’s expertise in campus networking and smart campus solutions. The framework helps campuses assess their current situation and plan their transition to clean energy sources while meeting the growing demand for digital services and data processing.

The Net Zero Campus Framework helps advance sustainable development, a major priority for regional governments. For example, under the Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative, the UAE seeks to become a global hub and a successful model of the new green economy.

The new era where everything is connected is approaching soon, an end-to-end high-quality campus network will become vital for enterprises to realize digital transformation. In the past, campus network solutions were designed based on enterprise scale. However, as digitalization accelerates across industries, enterprise scale is no longer the only factor. Enterprises of all sizes now pursue a high-quality network that can provide a superior user experience. A high-quality campus network should center on enterprise application scenarios and smooth evolution to the future instead.

Huawei dives into future-proof technologies and keeps innovating in line with the philosophy of high-quality 10 Gbps campus networks with ultra-high-speed access, simplified architecture, simplified branch, and ultimate experience. Doing so helps customers build speedy, simplified, and superior campus networks to accelerate digital transformation and endlessly unleash the industry’s potential.
