Khalid Athar: Please elaborate on the role of Ooredoo Kuwait in accelerating digital transformation for enterprises in Kuwait. What specific initiatives or solutions have you implemented in this regard?
Essa AlMoosa: Ooredoo Kuwait plays a vital role when it comes to accelerating the digital transformation journey across our customers from different segments targeting SMEs and large corporations. We have launched ‘Shamel Complete’, a unique tailored solution designed to assist SMEs in their businesses and enhance their transformation journey. Organizing panel discussions related to cyber security and data classification, sponsoring “Kuwait Digital Transformation Event”, an event that highlights the digital transformation journey and its role across organizations in addition to partnering with our unique partners worldwide to offer the best digital solutions for our customers are some of the initiatives when it comes to our role in digital transformation in the market.
We have engaged with the government sector as well as the private sector in implementing cybersecurity, IoT and ICT solutions. We have been going beyond the typical mobile operator concept in Kuwait and are, in fact, the first to introduce quite a few of the managed services and also host one of the biggest data centres here.
Our idea is to approach the market from a support system perspective; providing the right ICT enablement to a continuously growing market.
KA: Ooredoo Kuwait has recently been honored with the prestigious 5G Industry Partnership Award at the SAMENA Council Lead Awards. Would you like to comment on this milestone?
EM: This is one of the milestones that we have reached and this is something that will definitely motivate us to achieve more in the market going forward. This is especially true on the 5G and IoT platforms front, as we all have been experiencing quite a few advancements in that space.
KA: Would you like to say something about GITEX GLOBAL?
EM: Our participation in GITEX GLOBAL has been continuous for the last few years, and we do intend to be part of this great event going forward. We believe that it’s a strong forum to bring everyone together and to push for the advancement of ICT, IoT and other different solutions in the market.
This year’s event was actually even busier than the last, and we saw many new solutions come in and a lot of interesting technologies. It is a nice glimpse of the bright future this ICT industry holds.
KA: How has your partnership with Huawei benefited your digital transformation offerings for enterprises?
EM: Our partnership with Huawei benefits organizations’ customers and enhances their digital journey in various ways. We collaborated together and announced our collaboration last year here in GITEX.
Also, this year, we’re introducing Ooredoo Cloud Connect in Kuwait to further drive digital transformation.
Ooredoo Cloud Connect is a new generation of cloud-optimized managed network services powered by Huawei Cloud Campus MSP platform. We believe that this partnership will continue in enabling Enterprise Businesses to keep pace with innovation, meet rapidly changing business needs and optimize network performance and user experiences
KA: Looking ahead, what are Ooredoo Kuwait’s plans and priorities to support Kuwait’s visions & plans? Are there any new initiatives or partnerships on the horizon?
EM: Supporting Kuwait vision is the top priority that we at Ooredoo Kuwait focus on. Our strategy will continue to focus on providing the best solutions to our customers, listening to their needs and evolving their digital journey. We will be working closely with our partners on introducing the latest enhanced solutions for our customers. Evolving our customers’ businesses, ensuring their efficiency and transforming their digitization process across their organization are our strategic priorities in the upcoming time period for our valuable customers.
