Etisalat Conducts New Appointments and Promotions

As part of its strategy to support and provide opportunities for talented Emiratis, Etisalat has announced the appointment of two high performing UAE Nationals for leadership positions within the Corporation. Mr. Obaid Mohammed Al Sharid has been appointed Senior Vice President – Financial Operations, while Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Zarouni has been selected as “Acting” Senior Vice President – Sales
Obaid Mohammed Rashid Al Sharid joined Etisalat in 1984 and was tasked with a variety of roles within the Corporation, his latest being Vice President – Financial Affairs – Dubai Region. Al Sharid holds a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from UAE University.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Zarouni, who joined Etisalat in 1992, has risen through the ranks within the sales department to Vice President – Sales in Northern Emirates, a position he was assigned in 2010. Al Zarouni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Technical Engineering Sciences from the United States.
Commenting on the appointment of the new leaders, Abdul Aziz Al Sawaleh, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, Etisalat, said: “Etisalat is confident in its local talent. These talented UAE nationals have proven their outstanding ability to innovate and excel in a number of tasks and roles they have been assigned. This further reinforces Etisalat’s strategy to enhance its efforts in Emiratisation, and is proof that the strategy is working effectively.”
Al Sawaleh concluded: “Etisalat strives to promote its UAE national talents, and hand them leadership positions. It is proof to all Emiratis that hard work is the key factor to success and development, and it opens many opportunities for leadership positions.”
