The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has selected technology from Swiss company Ascom to test service quality using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ThisDay reported. Seven consultants have been contracted to cover 200 cities every month using Ascom’s Symphony Test Equipment, which was delivered last week to the NCC. Monday Ogbe, the CEO of Ascom’s Nigerian partner Backup Networks, said quality monitoring would begin in the first quarter of 2012. The consultants carrying out the service checks are Gama Global, Network Data Service Technology, Next Level Technology, Communications Towers, Arit Solution, Hifab Nigeria and Tarat Management. Ogbe said the deal with Ascom was for a two-year lease to the seven consultants, after which they become full owners of the equipment. He said 31 companies had expressed their interest in taking part in the quality drive.
