Nokia Siemens Networks wins SAMENA award for “Best Green Technology of the Year 2011”

Nokia Siemens Networks has won the SAMENA Award for “Best Green Technology of the Year 2011”on November 2, 2011 at an event held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha, Qatar.SAMENA Awards recognize leadership and excellence in the telecoms sectors of the South Asia – Middle East – North Africa (SAMENA) region. Nokia Siemens Networks was recognized for contributing the most towardsthe environment viause of  energy-efficient technology and adoption of  green initiatives, thereby helping operators reducetheir carbon footprint.

Nokia Siemens Networks was assessed on the basis of an individual, anonymous voting of the Awards Evaluation Committee (AEC). The process included a thorough review of the  eligible awardees, independent  study of  Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other data gathered through market research. The key criteria for selecting Nokia Siemens Networks included social impact, contribution to profitability, innovation and utilisationof technology.
Nokia Siemens Networks was also named “Best Vendor” at the Telecoms World Middle East Awards, held on October 2011. These awards are designed to identify and reward companies that have positively contributed to the development of telecoms in the Middle East.
